CHÂTEAU OLIVIER: COMBINING HISTORY AND MODERNITY

There are certain places where history says far more than words can express.
With its moats, its last architectural remains of a bygone century, and its mullion windows, the estate is a real medieval castle. Located just 11km from Bordeaux, Château Olivier has seen generations come and go, new ambitions emerge and innovative projects grow and develop, and has plenty of other legends to share with you.

There are certain places so imbued with history that they are not afraid of the modern world.

THE WEALTH OF A UNIQUE ECOSYSTEM

Isolated from other nearby vineyards and protected by forest, Château Olivier shares its land with exceptional flora and fauna. Considered a real natural reserve, our 230-hectare estate at the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation is a place of respect and coexistence for people, trees, birds, butterflies, mammals and flowers.

A rich terroir. A top-class terroir. A terroir that now makes Château Olivier and its vineyards one of six Graves Cru Classés for both red and white wines.

Exceptional wines in Pessac Léognan: The Grands Crus of Château Olivier

The 60 hectares of Château Olivier stand in primarily limestone-clay soils with remarkable quality and potential for winemaking.

This geological diversity, combined with a very specific microclimate, allows us to create fine wines for laying down that offer naturally complex aromas and nuances. Whether red grapes (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot) or white varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon), all are characterised by this precise, clean, authentic style.

EXPERTISE TO ENHANCE THE TERROIR

Our modernity is built around traditions that have been handed down, with a strong sense of conviction.

The Bethmann family has owned the estate for 136 years and works with a team of committed, loyal specialists whose sole aim is to make Château Olivier shine. A solid team committed to respect for the environment and stringent requirements at the vines, with each stage closely monitored: from harvesting by hand, to ‘tailored’ plot-by-plot vinification, to ageing in barrels.
